Learn About the Porsche Advanced Safety Features

Porsche enjoys a well-deserved reputation for offering drivers the kind of performance, dynamic handling, and upscale appointments that inspire automotive envy in others. However, when an automaker delivers such awesome power and handling, they also have an obligation to make sure that their vehicles are among the safest in the world. Fortunately, Porsche is a manufacturer that takes their responsibilities to heart.

Here are three examples of key safety areas that Porsche focuses on with the 718 model:

New 718 models are equipped with four-piston aluminum monobloc fixed calipers, allowing them to be both lighter and tougher. They're able to respond faster, while cross drilling and internal vents help with cooling and performance in wet conditions.

Available Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) deliver a shorter breaking distance in even the most rigorous conditions, with an emphasis on safety during high-speed braking, Thanks to their low weight, PCCB provide better road holding capability, as well as improved comfort and agility.

Bi-Xenon headlights and integrated LED daytime running lights come standard on all 718 models, while rear taillights boast a three-dimensional design and LED illumination to make a prominent visual impression on those driving behind you.

Available lighting options include the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), which incorporate a headlight cleaning system and four-point daytime running lights. Dynamic cornering lights swivel the headlights toward the inside of a curve, lighting up more of the road on tight turns and bends.

Airbags and Side-Impact Protection

The advanced airbag technology found in every 718 model includes full-size driver and front passenger airbags, as well as driver and passenger knee airbags.

The Porsche Side Impact Protection System (POSIP) that comes standard features side impact elements in each door, along with two airbags on each side -- one that inflates upward towards your head, and another that protects your thorax.
